Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division has awarded a five-year, $37.5M government contract for Subject Matter Technical and Engineering Expertise in Support of System Performance Parameters for Combat System Operation, Identification and Training to Basic Commerce and Industries, Inc, (BCI) whose corporate headquarters are located in Moorestown, NJ. The principal location for performance under this contract will be Dahlgren, VA. Mr. Edward B. Hontz is Vice President in charge of BCI's Dahlgren operations. Other BCI locations where work will be accomplished are Norfolk, VA; Orlando, FL; and San Diego, CA. Subcontractors approved for this contract are Systems Engineering Group, Inc. of Columbia, MD; Strategic Insight, Ltd. of Arlington, VA; and Simulation Systems Technologies, Inc. of Voorhees, NJ. BCI, established in 1981, is a systems and software engineering company with specialization in RADAR, Command and Control, communications, weapons control, weather systems, naval combat systems and Human Factors Engineering. The BCI-Dahlgren office was established in 1995 and currently has 78 employees. Specifically, the BCI-Dahlgren team combines the experience of analysts, engineers, and experienced surface ship operators to provide a unique capability to determine future system performance parameters based on sound operational and engineering principles. Their systems engineering team works at the leading edge of technology in developing advanced concepts for combat systems, training, maintenance, human-system integration, and command and control. Under this contract, BCI-Dahlgren will support such areas as fleet operational events, training systems development and evaluation, development and evaluation of operational concepts, evaluation of prototype systems, operational safety engineering and expert consultation services in areas such as combat and weapon systems, combat direction systems, sensors and weapons, and advanced surface warship joint war fighting capabilities.
