Recent Major Deliverables:
  • Provided products in various forms to NAVSEA05H, including reviews of plans and guidance documents for the Virtual SYSCOM HSI Working Group and NAVSEA acquisition programs.
  • Provided a number of products in support of the development of MIL-STD-2525 Symbology.  Member of the Naval Standards Working Group (NSWG), working primarily as a member of the Messaging and Symbology Working Group and Profiling Working Group, and serving as a member of the Symbology Standards Management Committee (SSMC).
  • Compiled the Naval Common Warfighting Symbology Implementation Guide (Version 1.0), which sets forth requirements for standardized implementation of MIL-STD-2525 symbols across surface Navy platform tactical displays.  The implementation guide consists of requirements derived from 26 empirical tests conducted across a twelve-month span at the NSWCDD Human Performance Lab (HPL).
  • Completed a study and report on the Air Intercept Control (AIC) sub-mode for Aegis and Ships Self Defense System (SSDS).  The report included a comparison of predicted procedure completion times using a Goals, Operators, Methods and Selection (GOMS) keystroke model as well as a recommendation for a common Variable Action Button (VAB) structure.
  • Providing HSI support to the Expendable Mine Neutralization System (EMNS), NSWC Panama City Product Office including establishment of the HSI Program, HSI Working Group and HSI Plan, and provided HSI input to all EMNS Program Documentation, Contract and Statement of Work, and system design.
  • Provide support to the Navy SEAPRINT office activities and working group.  Instrumental in several efforts, including the development of the Draft OPNAVINST 5310, SEAPRINT Policy, HSI Plan Data Item Deliverable (DID) for use in contract request for proposals, and community of practice work definition and HSI practitioners’ skill analysis project.
