Ms. Lewis joined Basic Commerce and Industries, Inc (BCI) in Dahlgren, VA in 2004. She began as a contract specialist while simultaneously gaining experience in various aspects of company management, administration, contracting, business development and program support. She has been key in managing various programs and the day to day operations of BCI. Ms. Lewis possesses exceptional organizational, leadership, communication and management skills.
Ms. Lewis received her B.S. in Finance from Virginia Commonwealth University and is also a 2014 graduate of the Leadership Fredericksburg Program. Ms. Lewis was the 2014 recipient of the "Top 10 of the Next Gen" award given by the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce. She has been a member of the National Contracts Management Association (NCMA) since 2004. Ms. Lewis also takes an active role in her local community and is the Vice Chairman of local YMCA and the Treasurer for the Warsaw Richmond County Main Street Program.
Ms. Schmidt joined BCI in 1996 and has been a key member of the management team in the Dahlgren Division of BCI since 2007. She is intimately involved in developing Division, as well as corporate, policy and assists with implementation across the company. Using her knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, recruitment, and organizational development, Ms. Schmidt develops trainings and policies that achieve strategic objectives, including employee retention and relations. Her extensive experience in the field of Government contracting and proposal writing has led to BCI Dahlgren Division’s enormous success and growth.
Prior to BCI, she served in the U.S. Air Force as an Avionics Technician where she worked primarily on aircraft targeting systems for the A-10 Thunderbolt II in the European theater. Ms. Schmidt earned her M.B.A. from Liberty University in 2015; she received her B.L.S. with Distinction in Business Administration from the University of Mary Washington.
Ms. Schmidt is a member of the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). She volunteers in outreach ministries through her church, friends, and, along with her husband, leads teams on mission trips to Belize.
Mr. Hontz is a retired Surface Warfare Officer serving in cruisers and destroyers at sea and in numerous positions while ashore. As the Aegis program sponsor in OPNAV, he supported development and delivery of planning and budget concepts to Pentagon flag officers and congressional decision makers. During Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Mr. Hontz commanded USS Princeton (CG59) and performed anti-air warfare commander responsibilities for a four carrier task force. He ended his navy career as the Commanding Officer of the Aegis Training Center in Dahlgren.
Mr. Hontz received his B.S. in Naval Science from the U.S. Naval Academy, an M.S. in Management from the Naval Postgraduate School and an M.A. in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.
Mr. Winters joined BCI in 1998 and has provided human factors engineering expertise for acquisition programs, policy development, and research and development efforts. He has supported research efforts for tactical symbology, automated watch turnover, and development of processes and guidance to improve the integration of human factors engineering and manpower considerations into the design process for Navy programs. At the policy level, his experience includes the establishment of NAVSEA certification criteria for HSI and coordinating the HSI design certification of Aegis BMD 4.0.1. His primary area of experience has been in surface combatants, including at-sea assessments and organizing and executing a series of mockup evaluations that drove the layout of the Combat Information Center for modernized Aegis cruisers and destroyers. As the HSI lead for carrier systems integration for the Unmanned Combat Air System, he planned and executed a series of shipboard and lab-based tests to determine the most efficient and effective mechanisms for shipboard operators to communicate with autonomous air vehicles. While he continues to support technical efforts for individual programs, he also oversees BCI’s team of human factors engineers and other human systems specialists that support policy and programs for Navy and Marine Corps customers.
Mr. Winters received B.S. degrees in both Mechanical Engineering and Psychology and an M.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering with a concentration in Human Factors from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
Mr. Myers joined BCI in 2000, after retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer (CWO2) and following a very successful Navy career with staff, carrier, amphibious, Aegis and training commands. He is a Principal Systems Engineer currently providing engineering and technical support for Aegis baseline and Ballistic Missile System development at NSWCDD and the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Mr. Myers oversees a team of engineers who support the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), Aegis Ashore (AA), Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD), Aegis Combat System Ship Qualification Trials (CSSQTs) and Baseline certifications.
Mr. Myers received his A.S. in General Education from the University of the State of New York.
Mr. Polidoro joined BCI in 2000. He served 28 years (active and reserve) as a Surface Warfare Officer on cruisers, destroyers, frigates and on various operational and policy staffs including the Chief of Naval Operations and the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff. In 2018, he joined the federal government serving as a Waterfront Readiness Officer with the Missile Defense Agency’s Sea-Based Weapon System and as a program manager with the Navy’s Conventional Prompt Strike program office. Mr. Polidoro returned to BCI in 2022 as Technical Advisor & Program Director.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science & International Relations from the United States Naval Academy and a Masters of Arts degree in Special Operations/Low Intensity Conflict from the Naval Postgraduate School. He holds Level 3 Certification in Acquisition Program Management, Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA).
Mr. Schadegg joined BCI in 2012. He is a retired Surface Warfare Officer serving in destroyers, amphibious platforms and frigates at sea and at the Aegis Training and Readiness Center, Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren and Navy Air and Missile Defense Command while ashore. After joining the BCI Team, he has provided systems engineering and operational analysis to NSWCDD, NSMWDC and the Missile Defense Agency across projects including program assessments, engineering reviews, element certifications, requirements development for IAMD and SUW training systems, land based test site studies, IAMD performance analyses for COCOMs, rapid operationalizing of prototypes analyses, strategic planning and leadership off sites. Currently Mr. Schadegg serves as a BCI Program Director and provides senior systems engineering and technical support to the navigation elements of the combat systems and oversees a BCI and subcontractor team of engineers that support BMD and Navy Future Capabilities, combat systems ashore development, unmanned surface vehicles platform and combat systems development and Navy training systems development.
Mr. Schadegg has a B.S. in Biochemistry from Texas A&M University.
